On a Silver Navigator Award course, you’ll start to leave the paths behind. You'll navigate in open country on short bearings. As your confidence increases you’ll learn more advanced compass skills and add timing and pacing into the mix too. Silver courses take place on more difficult terrain

About the event
Our NNAS Silver courses are held in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons
The days run from 10am until around 4pm and the course concludes with a short assessment.
The syllabus at Silver level covers:
• Understanding the compass
• Using the compass to measure map distances
• Accurately measuring distances on the ground
