The syllabus at Silver level covers: • Understanding the compass • Using the compass to measure map distances • Accurately measuring distances on the ground • Taking and following bearings • Following a course over pathless terrain • Understanding map symbols and how they relate to ground features • Understanding the various 'Norths'.
